SP F-units page: T&NO F9M rebuilding program

1965 Renumbering:

In 1954, EMD began a pilot program to rebuild the F3's that had come from the SP to the T&NO in 1952-1953. The result was the F9M, a locomotive rebuilt to the specs of an F9 from an F3. They would be placed in the T&NO 600 series for the A units and the T&NO 700 series for the B units.
