This loco was built in 12/1947 with EMD construction number 4561. It was built as a 1500 hp F3 B-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the F3 fleet was renumbered in late 1949 as she became SP 8019. She was transferred to the T&NO and renumbered as T&NO 519 on 04/07/1950.
She was rebuilt as an F9M at Houston and renumbered T&NO 719 in 04/18/1956.
She was retired on 05/07/1968 and sold to EMD on 05/24/1968.
