This loco was built in 1/1948 with EMD construction number 4537. It was built as a 1500 hp F3 A-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the F3 fleet was renumbered in December 1949 as she became SP 6135. She was transferred to the T&NO and renumbered as T&NO 337 on 11/25/1951.
She was rebuilt as an F9M at Houston and renumbered T&NO 627 in 04/04/1957.
She was retired on 05/24/1967 and sold to EMD on 07/05/1967.
