This loco was built in 10/1947 with EMD serial number 4511. She was built as a 1500 hp F3 A-unit. She was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.

Her alpha suffix was to have been done away with when the F3 fleet was renumbered in June 1949. She was to have became SP 6109, but was sent to the T&NO and renumbered as T&NO 309 prior to this number being applied.

She was rebuilt as an F9M at Houston and renumbered T&NO 607 in 11/02/1955.

She was retired on 06/26/1968 and sold to EMD on 07/28/1968.
