86' Auto Parts Box Cars:

From the early 1960's railroads bought box cars of 10,000 ft3 capacity for the purpose of transporting low-density auto parts such as fenders, bumpers and door panels. Many are still in service still hauling auto parts and others have been relegated to less strenuous service transporting lower-value cargo such as toilet paper. Here we will present these cars sorted by reporting mark. Many of the cars are now serving new owners through mergers.
