B-70-21 Box Cars:

These 86'-6" box cars were built by Thrall (Job 165-D) in 8-9/1964 and featured Keystone cushion underframes, bulkheads, single 20' Youngstown plug doors per side and 10,000 ft3 capacity.

At least one of this class, SP 615514, was re-built in March 1990 as evidenced by the B-70-21-R shown on Eric Dillinger's photo. This is unusual for SP, as it seems to have kept its original number after being re-built.

UP rebuilt/renumbered some of this class into a "new" SP number series SP 617014-617045 and one such car was given the SP Sunset herald for some reason while the others got typical UP shields.
