Welcome to the Rock Island (ROCK) Freight Cars Page. Here we will present a collection of images of freight cars of the Rock Island railroad. The purpose is to present information helpful the freight car modeler or historian. Submissions are always welcome.

The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad was reorganized several times throughout its history. Originally its equipment carried the reporting marks CRIP, but this was changed to RI around 1920. Further reorganization of the company brought about the modern new image railroad with ROCK marks around 1975. After a valiant struggle for survival which it ALMOST won, the carcass of the ROCK was sold in pieces around 1979.
