SPMW equipment
The SP traditionally used older revenue equipment in Maintenane of Way service. These cars were usually painted a special color to distinguish them from revenue cars. An MW was added to the beginning of the number, but it always appeared as though the reporting marks were SPMW, or SSWMW or TNOMW or NWPMW which all existed over the years. These distinctive cars were scattered throughout the SP system and could provide the opportunity to see cars of classes that were no longer running in revenue service.
