O-50-13 Tank Cars

A roster of the O-50-13 class tank cars is provided as follows:

	
	SP   58575-58774       (re #'d SP 62798-62995)

These 42' tank cars were built by GATC in 1942 and featured 12,000 gal. capy. At least eight cars from this class were re-trucked in the late 50's or early 60's and re-assigned to class O-70-1.

An article on modeling this class from an Athearn tank by Tony Thompson was previously published in issue #71 SPH&TS magazine Trainline (spring 2001.) It has been updated and published on Tony's blog page.

Apparently at least one car received special lettering as NWPMW 842. It is not known if this was an "official" or "unofficial" modification, but it is certainly of note.
