KCS 4500-4509 SD45T-3's:
The SP/UP sold many SD45T-2's off later in their lives for continued service. One of the most interesting groups of these engines is the KCS's fleet of units that were rebuilt by MK-Boise in 1996 as SD45T-3's. They were numbered KCS 4500-4509 and painted in the then-standard KCS grey scheme and given nose-mounted gyralights. It appears that the fleet was renumbered later in life as KCS 7200-7209. It has yet to be verified if all 4500 series units were renumbered into the 7200 series.
