This loco was built in 3/1972 with EMD construction number 7336-21. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on the front end. The rear featured xxxx.

She was rebuilt and renumbered to SP 6782 as part of the SP's GRIP program on 10/xx/1986.

She was rebuilt by MK-Boise in 4/1996 and began a new life as KCS 4503, now considered an SD45T-3. KCS's ex SP 4500 series units were renumbered to the KCS 7200's at some point. This unit thus was KCS 7203 later in life.
