B-70-81 Box Cars:
SSW 67750-67999 Golden West numbers: VCY 181000-181228
These 50'-7" box cars were built by PC&F in 1979 and featured 8'+8' Youngstown sliding doors, non-terminating ends, Freight Saver cushioning and 6324 ft3 capacity.
Many cars from this group of cars had their capacities increased from 70 tons to 100 tons and re-painted and re-lettered for Golden West Service. They were placed in the VCY 181xxx series. They were assigned the new Golden West Service class designation of B-100-81. There never was such a class assigned on the SP proper.
