CH-70-2 Covered Hopper Cars:
UP 10101-10499 UP 12473 UP 12843-12867 some to UP 9xxxxx series for company sand service
These 2-bay, 75 ton, covered hopper cars were built by GATC in 1949. They featured 8 square roof hatches, Enterprise discharge mechanisms and 1958 ft3 capacity. They were assigned to class CH-70-2.
Some members of this class along with members of class CH-70-1 were stretched into class CH-90-17 3-bay covered hoppers by UP Omaha Shops in 1969.
