CH-70-1 Covered Hopper Cars:

These 2-bay, 75 ton, covered hopper cars were built by GATC in 11/1940. They featured 8 square roof hatches, Enterprise discharge mechanisms and 1958 ft3 capacity. They were assigned to class CH-70-1.
Some members of this class along with members of class CH-70-2 were stretched into class CH-90-17 3-bay covered hoppers by UP Omaha Shops in 1969.
