FCA-125-1 Flat Car
A roster of the FCA-125-1 class flat car is provided as follows:
SSW 90049-90058 (SP 900504?)
These cars were built to an Itel design by FMC in 1982-83. They consisted of four articulated skeleton units each capable of handling trailers of up to 48' in length. They were IMPACK type cars, a design with its roots in Santa Fe's 10 pack Fuel Foilers. It seems that evidence has surfaced that suggests that possibly these cars were originally built and lettered for SP and subsequently transferred to the Cotton Belt. Alternatively, the car shown below could have been a test car that was lettered for the SP for evaluation purposes and later returned to FMC.
