F-70-62A Flat Cars

A roster of the F-70-62A class flat cars is provided as follows:

		
	SSW 80300-80349		(re #'d to SSW 80800-80848)	
		

These cars were built in 1971 by PS (lot 9547B) as low-deck flats and featured 89'-4" loading platforms. They were originally equipped with STAC-PAC demountable containers for transporting high end domestic autos. They were eventually rebuilt as wide-deck flats, renumbered and Portec tri-level enclosed racks installed. The former STAC-PAC containers can still be seen at various SP/SSW freight yards used as storage sheds. A photo of SSW 80825 can be seen in the SP Color Guide Vol. II.
