These 89'-0" flat cars were built in 1963-65 by GATC as their G-89 design. Some of these cars were eventually re-marked as SP cars, but the details of the transfer are still unknown.

The car pictured below (SP 520132) is painted black. It must have been repainted by the SP, as the cars were originally delivered in PFE orange paint. It appears as though some cars were reconditioned or rebuilt and given new class suffixes as follows: F-70-30R SP 520741-520902 and F-70-30Z SP 521300-521346.
