B-100-50 Box Cars:

 

	SP 286001-286149					(many to TOFX 887141-887286)

These 50'-6" hi-cube box cars were built by Gunderson in May 1996. They featured 5997 ft3 cubic capicity and 16'-0" door openings and an SP sunset herald under SOUTHERN PACIFIC on the right hand side of the car. These were the last new box cars delivered to the SP and the first new box cars in 16 years. Strangely, it appears that only 149 cars were delivered rather than the more typical 150 cars.

The remaining cars went to TOFX in 2012 and were converted from double sliding doors to single plug doors.
