B-50-38 Box Cars
A roster of the B-50-38 class box cars is provided as follows:

These 50'-6" box cars were built by SP Equipment Co. (Sacremento) in 1955-56 and featured 4980/4567 ft3 capacity and a 15'-4" door opening. It is assumed that the 250 loader-equipped cars of this class were constructed with their assigned-service numbers in the 683xxx series and later renumbered into their general-service 212xxx series numbers, but this is only conjecture at this time. More research is needed. This means getting up the courage to start digging through that stack of ORER's on the shelf!
