SP SDP45 page
This page is dedicated to SP's fleet of SDP45 locomotives. In 1967, the SP ordered these units for long distance passenger trains, but they ended up working San Jose-San Francisco commute pool. On weekends, they would earn their keep by working freight duties around the Bay area. Once CalTrain took over operation of the commute line, the SDP45's were released into the general freight pool.
