SP SD44R page: SP 7399 - "Orange Bird" Daylight-inspired unit
The SP painted up two locomotives in variations of a Daylight-inspired scheme. One was SD40R SP 7342, the other was SD44R 7399. They became known as the "Orange Birds" and often were used to assist SP 4449, most notably on portions of her trip to New Orleans for the 1984 World's Fair.
