SP 8837
This loco was built in 8-9/1966 with EMD construction number 7887-38.
She was rebuilt and renumbered to SD44R SP 7399 as part of the SP's GRIP program on 11/xx/1981. The (second) most visible external change was the addition of a full set of Gyralight to the rear of the unit. She was repainted into a Daylight-inspired scheme (along with SD40R SP 7342) and often assigned to assist SP 4449 4-8-4 most notably on portions of her trip to New Orleans, LA for the 1984 World's Fair.
Around 1985, she was treated to a fresh coat of kodachrome paint.
