SP SD40 page: SP 7342 - "Orange Bird" Daylight-inspired unit
The SP painted up two locomotives in variations of a Daylight-inspired scheme. One was SD44R SP 7399, the other was SD40R 7342. They became known as the "Orange Birds" and often were used to assist SP 4449, most notably on portions of her trip to New Orleans for the 1984 World's Fair.
