SP SD40 page: Locomotives NOT run through the GRIP program

Locomotives NOT GRIP'd:

The SP's General Rehbilitation and Improvement Program (GRIP) for the SD40 model began in mid 1980 and ran throughout late summer of 1981. A total of 86 of the 89 total units rostered were rebuilt, leaving 3 units that were never rebuilt. It is ASSUMED that they were retired prior to the conclusion of the SD40 GRIP program, but that is not known for sure yet. They are listed as follows:
