SP 8423

This loco was built in 2/1966 with EMD serial number 7861-14.

She was one of three SD40's never rebuilt as part of the SP's GRIP program. The other two were SP 8402 & 8460.

She was wrecked at Goleta, CA on 10/7/79.

She was sold 7/7/80 to Chrome Crankshaft of Alhambra, CA and scrapped on 8/12/80.
