SSW 83000-83049:
These 54'-4" flat cars were built by Cotton Belt's Pine Bluff Shops in 2-3/1946. They featured 2-5/8" wood decking.
Some of these cars were converted to plasterboard loading by the addition of 9' high bulkheads. The conversion work was done by Cotton Belt's Pine Bluff shops in 1956 and 1958 and possibly later. At the time of publication, Cotton Belt documentation listed four cars so converted: 83000, 83022, 83023 and 83030. More cars may have been converted at a later date. It is of note that these cars were not re-numbered at the time of conversion.
