These 40'-6", 50-ton box cars were built by PS (Lot 8299) in 6/1956 as PS-1s. They featured 8', 6 panel Superior doors and 3882 ft3 capacity.
One of these cars was specially numbered as SSW 75000 for publicity photos as the 75,000th PS-1 built. It is unclear at this time just which car was treated in this way or its true number. It is likely that the car was repainted and renumbered before being released to the Cotton Belt.
It appears as though some cars were later retrofitted with 9 belt DF load restraint devices.
