IC 8148

This loco was rebuilt in 9/1971 by IC Paducah Shops as a GP10. She was built as IC 8909, a GP7 in x/1953.

There is conflicting information on the source of this locomotive in various places on the internet. Some claim that she was built as IC 9148 (a GP9) serial number 20786, but this is countered by the information below.

It is not known at this time if she was ever relettered for ICG.

She became GMSR 8148.

She became MSRC 1065.

A little more background on this unit from Michael Palmieri:

"IC 9148 is one of those units that just disappeared at Paducah.

On 11 June 1988 Jim Selzer inspected GMSR 8148 at Meridian, and he
found two different frame numbers. The left rear was 6495-4 (from
the 8909) while the right front was either 5534-9 or 5554-9.
.... but it was apparent that the frame came from two units. Anyhow,
IC 8909 is generally regarded as the donor unit for ICG 8148, later
	MSRC 1065.

ICG 7909 was rebuilt from 9194."

"...5534 was one Phelps-Dodge GP9 and 5554 was for five WM geeps."
