C&EI 717300-717999							(to MP 717300-717999; some to MKTT)

These 3-bay, 100-ton, covered hopper cars were built by AC&F (Lot 11-01280) in 10-11/1973. They featured 4600 ft3 capacity. The MP eventually renumbered many of the remaining C&EI cars with MP reporting marks. At least one (MP 717433) received an early version of post-merger UP lettering. At lease one car was relettered for MKTT (an MKT subsidiary in the state of Texas) with the same road number. More info on is needed on this such as when the change took place and why. It is presumed that it was done by UP which owned both roads at the time.
