These 50 ton, 50'-6" steel box cars were all built by SSW (Pine Bluff???) in August-September 1944. All cars were 4901 ft3 capacity, however, later in their careers, they received "DF Loader" belt rails, which changed their capacity to 4822 ft3. These cars featured 8'-0"x 9'-11" Camel doors, 10'-6" interior height, Murphy S.R.E.M. Co. roofs, U.S. Gypsum running boards, S.R.E.M. Co. Dreadnaught ends, ASF Self-Aligning, Spring Plankless trucks, and Champion hand brakes. Many thanks to Shawn Beckert for much of the above information.
