Group 1 Vert-A-Pac Flat Cars

This was the first group of production Vert-A-Pac cars built. The main group of 119 cars went to the SP as their F-70-58A class and the remaining 64 cars were TTVX 801216-801279 (ALH11V) built 6=9/1970 (lot 11-4304 or -4305?) with racks painted for D&RGW, RI, MP & MILW for a total of 183 cars. The flats were all AC&F 89' low deck cars while the fabrication of the superstructures and final assembly were subcontracted out to St. Louis Car, a division of General Steel Industries. See the November 1970 Railway Locomotives and Cars article "Vert-A-Pac Moves Subcompacts Nose Down" for additional info. At this time, I don't have an exact breakdown of which racks road on which flat cars.
