B-100-8 Box Cars
A roster of the B-100-8 class box cars is provided as follows:
SP 674300-674499 SP 674700-674799 SSW 21600-21699 SSW 21700-21799 BKTY 75-99
These 50'-2" insulated, Car Pac loader-equipped box cars were all built to the same basic design by PC&F in 1965-66. They featured 5050 ft3 capacity, Hydra-Cushion underframes, Car Pac loaders and 10"-0" plug doors. The BKTY cars were part of the Commonwealth Plan, under which the MKT acquired cars that were financed by the SP some sort of way. In any event, the cars were decorated as per MKT practice except the SP class designation was applied to the cars as per SP practice.
