This loco was built in 11/1965 with EMD construction number 30254.

She was renumbered SP 2287 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She left the SP roster and became WC 1236. Photos online indiicate that her gyralights were gone by 1988, however, her numberboards remained intact for at lease several years afterwards.
