SP 5485
This loco was built in 4/1956 with EMD construction number 21310. She was built with boiler controls, but without a steam generator or water tank for reserve passenger service. This meant that she needed a trailing unit such as an F7B to operate in multiple with to provide steam heat to a passenger train. She also featured dual fuel tanks for dual fuel operation. She was painted in standard for the time "black widow" colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3958 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 4391 on 5/31/1974.
