SP 5438:

 

This loco was built in 5/1955 with EMD serial number 20216. She was built as a freight engine, model SD9. She was painted in standard for the time "black widow" colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.

She was assigned number SP 3916 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 4397 on 01/09/1975.

She was retired by the SP on 11/12/1993 and became WPRR 1852 on 03/04/1994.

She became PNWR 1852 on 12/2000.

She became BUGX 1852 in 9/2023.
