SP 5309
This loco was built in 7/1953 with EMD construction number 18401. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the "tiger stripe" colors. It is not sure what headlight configuration this unit was delivered with, but it is presumed that it was delivered with barrel style, oscilating headlights at each end along with sealed beam headlights.
She was assigned number SP 2716 in the 1965 system renumbering.
All of the SD7's were renumbered as a group in 1973 to make room for new MP15 switch engines. This unit was renumbered SP 1416.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 1511 in 11/28/1979.
