SP 5287

This loco was built in 1/1953 with EMD construction number 17152. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the "tiger stripe" colors. The SP added an ash can headlight arrangement on each end shortly after delivery.

She was assigned number SP 2708 in the 1965 system renumbering.

All of the SD7's were renumbered as a group in 1973 to make room for new MP15 switch engines. This unit was renumbered SP 1408.

She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 1536 in 5/12/1980.
