SP 9136

This loco was built in xx/1970 with EMD construction number 7217-13.

She was wrecked at Indio, CA on 07/23/1973. She was scrapped following the wreck, but owing to her age, the equipment trust dictated that SP 8908 (wrecked at Rocklin, TX in 08/1974) be rebuilt and on 8/07/1974 became (2nd) SP 9136.

She was rebuilt and renumbered to SP 7494 as part of the SP's GRIP program on 02/15/1984. The most visible external change was the addition of a full set of Gyralight to the rear of the unit.
