SP 8992

This loco was built in 1/1969 with EMD construction number 7138-11. She was rebuilt from wrecked SP 8857.

She was wrecked at Indio, CA on 07/23/1973. She was scrapped following the wreck, but owing to her age, the equipment trust dictated that SP 8857 (wrecked at Rocklin, TX in 08/1974) be rebuilt and became (2nd) SP 8992.

She was not rebuilt as part of the SP's GRIP program.
