SP 8985:

This loco was built in xx/19xx with EMD serial number 7138-4.
She was rebuilt and renumbered to SP 7551 as part of the SP's GRIP program on 08/xx/1985. The most visible external change was the addition of a full set of oscilating to the rear of the unit, albiet with an Oscitrol type light in place of the standard at the time Gyralight.
She was the very first SP unit repainted into "kodachrome" colors as part of the attempted SPSF merger at the time of rebuild. The large SP on the hood was originally in white, but was changed to yellow within a few months.
She was involved in the infamous Duffy St. wreck near San Bernardino, CA on 05/12/1989. She was scrapped on site.
