This loco was built in 6/1967 with EMD construction number 7971-40.

She was one of several units involved in a wreck at Frink, CA on July 8, 1989. She was sold to Chrome Crankshaft on January 31, 1990 then went to Morrison-Knudsen who rebuilt her to SD40-2 specs and sold her to CSX Transportation as their unit CSXT 8462.
