SP 4819

This loco was built in 12/1964 with EMD construction number 29833. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on the front end. The rear featured a dual sealed beam light only.
She was assigned number SP 6903 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 4709 in 5/15/1978. She was stripped of her turbocharger, and received a full 5-light rear gyralight package.
She was renumbered to SP 2970 on 12/18/1979 and assigned to work the Englewood hump yard in Houston, TX.
