T&NO 445
This loco was built in 12/1956 with EMD builder's number 22899. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a single dual sealed beam headlight on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3567 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3781 in 10/1975.
This unit (along with SP 3424) was involved in a famous accident where both locomotives rolled off and into the Napa River through the open Brazos Drawbridge. The accident was captured on film by railfan Gene Poon and is documented here. Both units were built for the T&NO.
