This loco was built in 12/1956 with EMD builder's number 22894. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a single dual sealed beam headlight on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3562 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3734 in 1/1972.
