T&NO 414

This loco was built in 10/1954 with EMD builder's number 19995. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a single dual sealed beam headlight on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3426 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3319 in 6/1970. Apparently as an experiment, she was outfitted with a combination UDE/gyralight on her nose. Most other ex T&NO GP9's rebuilt during this time frame were simply passed through the program without headlight modification. She retained this configuration at least through 1986.
