This loco was built in 5/1954 with EMD builder's number 19470. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a single dual sealed beam headlight on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3409 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3391 in 10/1973.
She was renumbered into a switcher series as SP 2868 in 1978.
