T&NO 408

This loco was built in 5/1954 with EMD builder's number 19469. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a single dual sealed beam headlight on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3408 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3301 in 3/1970. She was the second GP9 rebuilt by the SP under the GRIP Program and emerged with a full set of Gyralights on the front in an apparent experiment on how to treat the ex T&NO units. It appears as thought no attempt was made to add rear Gyralights. This unit and the SP 3300 (both ex T&NO units) would be treated the same.
