This loco was built in 5/1954 with EMD builder's number 19467. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a single dual sealed beam headlight on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3406 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3389 in 8/1973.
