T&NO 245

This loco was built in 5/1954 with EMD serial number 19477. She was built as a dual service freight or passenger engine with boiler in the nose. She was setup with a single control stand, thus had wings on the front high nose only. She was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured Pyle oscilating dish signal lights on both ends.
During the early 1960's, this unit lost her steam generator.
She was assigned number SP 3416 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3357 in bloody nose paint in 6/1972. She was one of the few ex T&NO GP9's to be outfitted with SP Pacific Lines type gyralights at GRIP. She sported the somewhat unusual dual casting with the upper light set as a gyralight and the lower as a red UDE light.
