Photo by: John Karges - Fort Worth, TX - April 1970

This loco was built in 10/1957 with EMD builder's number 24078. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in black widow colors and featured a full set of sealed beam, gyralight and red UDE light on each end in a similar fashion to Pacific Lines freight GP9's.

She was assigned number SSW 3644 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She was repainted into the gray and red "bloody nose" paint scheme at some point in the 1970's.

She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SSW 3813 in 5/1978.
